According to my iPad it is 2 am back home and we are an hour out from landing in Amsterdam. Which means the first 7 hour leg of our flight to Russia is almost over. I have probably slept no more than 45 minutes. Ugh! My right leg was restless and I had a stomachache so getting comfortable has been nearly impossible. I just can't wait to be able to lie down.
Later...
Flight from Amsterdam went without a hitch, then went thru passport control in Russia. No problems there either. Our translator, Valeria, met us at the airport with a driver and we drove to a bank to exchange money. In Russia it is around 5pm and all I can't wait to do is go to the hotel and go to bed. So, we arrive at the "Mini-hotel Columb" and from the outside you can't even tell it is a hotel. The entrance is a door after a few steps in the back.
The lobby is very small, too. There is bairly enough room for Ed, me, Valeria and the luggage. Guess that's where the hotel got its name.
Valeria helped us to check into our room since the clerk did not know English. We went to the room and I immediately crashed on the bed. Aaaaaah! Felt good to lay horizontal.
Eventhough I was getting hungry, I couldn't move from the bed. Figured I'd just sleep a bit and then maybe Ed and I could find someplace later. Goodnight! Finally!
